The doctor flips the switch.
They all wait patiently to see what happens. Rory bends down and puts her chin on his upper arm. No one says a sound. Then Jess takes his first breath on his own. Everyone sighs. Luke and Lorelai hug. Liz and TJ hug. Rory kisses his arm.

Lorelai: can I ask you a question?
Liz: yeah.
Lorelai: why do you have a Stars Hollow house if you don’t ever live in it?
Liz: cause Stars Hollow will always be home to me, and it’s nice to have it to fall back on.
Lorelai shakes her head.
Lorelai: okay, I just wondered.

Doyle gets down on one knee.
Doyle: will you marry me?
Paris looks at Doyle.
Doyle: will you?
Everyone is starring at them.
Paris: oh Doyle. Of course I’ll marry you.
Doyle and Paris kiss.

Tristan: I have recently been blessed with some money, and I don’t know what to do with all of it.

Rory takes the last spoonful of Jell-o© and puts in her mouth. She looks over at Jess. Lorelai walks in.
Rory: oh hey mom.
Lorelai: hey Rory. How’s he doing?
Rory: I guess good. The doctors aren’t saying anything, but let us do our job.
Lorelai: I hate it when they say that.
Rory: you have no idea.
Lorelai smiles.
Lorelai: so may I ask what you do in here all day?
Rory: well usually I wake up and check on Jess. Then I take a quick shower. Then I come back out check on Jess again, then I check my e-mail for an hour or so. Then I go and get coffee for me and a few of the nurses. Then Raquel comes and does a daily routine check, then I just read until dinner, get something to eat, and come back watch a little TV, then go to bed.
Lorelai: you do all of that?
Rory: yeah.
Lorelai: wow, I mean I thought you would just sit all day.
Rory: well I use to, but then I couldn’t just sit and watch him lie there, so I started doing stuff, and I just came into a daily routine.
Lorelai giggles.
Rory: so what are you doing here?
Lorelai: oh I brought you some more clothes, and I thought I could take your old clothes back and wash them.
Rory: oh mom thanks that’s really nice of you.
Lorelai smiles.
Rory: oh I have to go get coffee for Raquel, Hannah, and Molly.
Lorelai: who?
Rory: the nurses.
Lorelai: oh. Well I guess I should be going then.
Rory: well if you could wait just a few minutes, I’ll be back, and we can talk.
Lorelai nods her head.
Lorelai: well I probably could wait a few minutes, but I do need to get back to work.
Rory: it takes me about ten minutes to get all the coffee.
Lorelai: oh, I have to get back to work before then sweetie.
Rory: oh okay.
Rory hugs Lorelai.
Rory: thank you so much mom. I love you.
Lorelai: I love you too.
Rory leaves. Lorelai looks at Jess, then sits down next to him.
Lorelai: hey Jess. It’s umm….Lorelai. I just wanted to talk to you a little bit.
Lorelai takes a deep breath.
Lorelai: I know were not best friends or anything, and I probably shouldn’t be asking you for a favor, but I am. Jess we kinda got off to a bad start, but then I realized how much you love my daughter, and how much she loved you, how much she still loves you, if you don’t wake up soon, I’m not sure she can take it, I was jus wondering if you……if you could wake up and not put her through that?
Lorelai looks at Jess.
Lorelai: think about it okay?
Lorelai gets up and leaves.

Liz: Luke.
Liz sits down at the bar.
Luke: well what can I get you?
Liz: nothing, me and TJ are going to go ahead and head back home.
Luke: what?
Liz: well I mean we saw Jess, and there’s nothing we can do, just sitting here watching him.
Luke looks away.
Liz: will you call if anything happens?
Luke shakes his head yes.
Liz: I’m sorry Luke, it’s just not easy sitting here watching him like this.
Luke: it’s hard? Your not up there sitting next to him day and night, you’ve seen him twice since you’ve been here.
Liz: it’s not like your up there all the time either.
Luke: no, but Rory is, and I think maybe you should stay for her.
Liz: I’m sorry Luke, just call okay?
Liz leaves.

Miss Patty walks into Luke’s.
Miss Patty: Luke darling.
Luke: hey Patty, it’s good to see you.
Miss Patty: you too. How’s Jess doing?
Luke: he’s doing good.
Miss Patty: how about Rory?
Luke: I don’t know, she acts like she’s doing good, but I’m not really sure.
Miss Patty: that poor girl.
Luke: yeah.
Miss Patty: well Luke I came here to ask you if you had seen Taylor?
Luke looks around.
Luke: now that you mention it, I haven’t seen him sense the last town meeting.
Miss Patty: I know I have to ask him a question about the dance studio, and when I came looking for him I couldn’t find him, so I came to you, cause I knew that you would be the first person who knew where he was.
Luke: no Patty, I actually don’t have any idea where he is.
Ceaser takes a step out of the kitchen.
Ceaser: let’s leave it that way!!
Miss Patty smiles.
Miss Patty: okay, well thank you Luke.
Luke: no problem Patty, let me know what happens.
Miss Patty: will do.
Miss Patty leaves.

Lorelai: hey Michel, have you seen Sookie?
Michel: no she didn’t come today.
Lorelai: oh.
Michel: yes.
Lorelai looks Michel over.
Lorelai: what’s wrong with you?
Michel: what do you mean?
Lorelai: your like a robot, you practically answer before I even finish my sentence.
Michel: is there something wrong with that?
Lorelai: yes, it’s scary.
Michel: good.
Lorelai: MICHEL!!
Michel: could you please lower your voice
Lorelai: Michel.
Michel: yes Lorelai.
Lorelai: what’s going on?
Michel: well…..
Michel looks around.
Michel (singing): I kissed a girl and I liked it, the taste of her cherry chapstic.
Lorelai looks around.
Lorelai: what?
Michel walks off.
Michel: I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.

Paris and Doyle run into Luke’s.
Paris & Doyle: WE BOUGHT A HOUSE. WOO-WHO!!
Paris and Doyle slap each others hands and leave. Luke looks around.
Babette: well good for them.
Andrew: yeah.

April is sitting on the couch watching The Hills, and eating potato chips, in her snoopy pajamas. There’s a knock at the door.
April: coming.
There’s another knock.
April: I said I’m coming!
She answers the door.
April: yes. Oh Tristan. Hi.
Tristan: hey April. What are you wearing.
April smiles.
April: just something I found in my suitcase.
Tristan nods his head.
Tristan: okay, umm…..well is Rory here?
April: oh no. She hasn’t been back since Jess got hurt, so she’s at the hospital. If you wanna see her, he’s in room 202.
Tristan smiles.
Tristan: thank you April.
April: your welcome.
April shuts the door, and goes back the couch.
April: oh he is so hot.

THAT NIGHT

Lorelai: well Michel, I’m gonna go.
Michel: okay Lorelai.
Lorelai picks her purse off the counter and sees pictures of houses.
Lorelai: Michel, are these yours?
Michel: what?
Lorelai: these house ads?
Michel turns towards the counter.
Michel: oh those.
Michel does a nervous laugh.
Lorelai: Michel, what’s going on?
Michel: nothing.
Lorelai: Michel.
Michel: it’s nothing Lorelai, really.
Lorelai: Michel!
Michel: fine, I’m thinking about moving.
Lorelai: what?
Michel: well I mean I’ve lived here since I left France, and I would like to live somewhere else.
Lorelai: but Michel we need you here.
Michel: you can hire someone else.
Lorelai: but they won’t be like you Michel.
Michel: well duh, I’m one of a kind.
Lorelai: you can’t Michel.
Michel: I’m not saying I’m going to, I’m just thinking about it.
Lorelai looks at Michel, with puppy dog eyes.
Michel: oh Lorelai stop that.
Lorelai continues to look at Michel.
Michel: it’s not gonna work Lorelai.
Lorelai (baby voice): don’t move pease Michewl.
Michel: Lorelai?
Lorelai: yes.
Michel: I’ll just keep thinking about it okay?
Lorelai: fine. Good night Michel.
Michel: night Lorelai.
Lorelai leaves.

There’s a knock at the door. Tristan walk in.
Rory: Tristan? What are you doing here?
Tristan: I came to bring you some good food, and talk.
Tristan holds up a Chile’s To Go bag.
Rory: oh yum.
Tristan smiles.
Rory: so what did you want to talk about?
Tristan sits down next to Rory with the food, and gives it to Rory. Rory pulls out a hamburger, and takes a bite.
Tristan: well I was wondering what you think about me moving to Stars Hollow
Rory (with her mouth full): what?
Tristan: is it that bad of an idea?
Rory swallows.
Rory: no, of course not, I think that would be great. But didn’t you just buy that house in Hartford?
Tristan: yeah.
Rory: and didn’t you pay all that money on it.
Tristan: yeah, but I’m so far away from the people that I’m friends with.
Rory nods her head.
Tristan: and well some person knocked on my door, handed me 200,000 dollars in cash and told me to get lost.
Rory: can they do?
Tristan: well they couldn’t, but I took the money, so they can.
Rory laughs.
Tristan: so I pretty much sold my house for 200,000 dollars.
Rory: not bad. Did you get to keep your stuff.
Tristan: the guy got movers and put it in storage for me.
Rory: god, who is this guy?
Tristan: I’m not sure, but he’s old.
Rory laughs again.
Tristan: so do you think that would be good?
Rory: yeah, I think that would be good.
Tristan stands up.
Tristan: well I better be getting back, but I’ll see you soon.
Rory: okay.
Rory stands up and hugs him.
Rory: thanks for the food.
Tristan walks to the door.
Tristan: no problem Mary.
Tristan leaves.
